Unless you spent most of yesterday asleep, you’ll know that Naughty Boy and Zayn Malik came under fire from fans and a super sassy Louis Tomlinson after the producer seemed to leak a first listen to the Bradford Bad Boy’s solo stuff.
The track has since been deleted, and it’s NOW being reported that it wasn’t actually Zayn’s solo stuff at all. In fact, it was apparently a demo recorded for One Direction‘s last album.
Hmmm. So, why the HECK was Mr Boy posting it yesterday, then? To rile fans? To show what Zayn CAN do? We smell something funny going on here, and it’s not the bacon we’ve just burnt.
An ‘insider’ has told MailOnline: “It’s important fans know this isn’t a solo Zayn song or even representative of material he might record in the future.
“If you listen to the track it is clearly a song written with One Direction in mind for their last album. It’s not new, nor is it a Zayn Malik solo track.”
‘Clearly’? SORRY, Mr Insider. We must’ve missed that memo.
A rep for Naughty Boy has also confirmed the story to the site, explaining: “Naughty Boy and Zayn wrote and demoed it as a contender for 1D’s album last year.
“They aren’t furiously working on his solo material or anything, there aren’t plans for anything and this wasn’t recorded in the last few days.
“They are very good friends and Zayn is taking time out including visiting Naughty Boy at his studio and hanging out.”
Asked about *those* hashtags on his SoundCloud link (“#2016 #zaughty #zindabad“), Naughty Boy’s rep said: “He’s having fun. Nothing is planned as yet.”
The insider also said that Naughty Boy shared the demo in response to his feud with Louis. Fab response.
It’s well known that the boys often work on demos separately before pitching them for the album, with Zaughty’s ‘One Chance To Dance’ effort also failing to make the cut last year, so we’re not *entirely* surprised by this news.
HOWEVER, all is not as it seems with this ‘insider’ and their knowledge, because sassy Louis has seemingly called BS on the whole thing.
And we all know a sassy Louis is a) an incredible Louis and b) a Louis you really don’t want to mess with.
The sassmaster replied to the Irish Mirror, who tweeted out the story, asking: “is that an April fool ?”
Er, would you like some ice for that burn, babes?
Not only was his sass on untouchable levels, but it also suggests that the reports claiming it’s not a solo clip aren’t true at all, and that this is the first the boys have heard of this supposed 1D album demo.
Which we guess kinda makes sense, considering we can’t think why else Naughty Boy would’ve shared it yesterday.
We just want the truth, please.
Our brains are basically piles of macaroni and cheese after this past month, and we don’t really know what to make of all of this. If we could borrow Bernard’s Watch, stop time and let it all sink in, that would be great. Thanks.
We just want Zayn and the rest of the boys to be happy, if we’re honest.
So much for waving good to March madness, eh? Welcome to Absurd April, everyone!
